A walk on the bluffs

So this is my first time posting anything to a blog EVER, and it's pretty exciting that it's with my fellow animators/illustrators! :D

I went for a walk today with a friend, into the Ellwood Butterfly Grove, so I got to see thousands of butterflies. It is actually really cool, and the Monarch butterflies migrate here (to Santa Barbara/Goleta) every year. They fly around and rest in clumps up in the eucalyptus tree branches, and it's really interesting to see.

These pictures are from two years ago, and I'm posting them because the lighting was a lot better that day. Also, here's a video to give an idea of what it looks like :) The dark clumps in the trees are the butterflies ^_^

Anyway, I decided to keep the 113B spirit alive and draw some trees once we walked out to the bluffs overlooking the ocean! Haha, woohoo for trees (and drawing/painting!)
